Frequently Asked Questions
Cabin Leaders are responsible for the direction and guidance of 10-12 campers each week. Cabin Leaders will use every opportunity to interact with campers on spiritual topics through Bible study, fellowship time, one-on-one discussions, and daily living situations.
Lifeguards are responsible for overseeing all waterfront activities, including the pool, lakefront, and boating. Must be lifeguard certified — Red Cross training is available at BLBC, but previous certification is preferred.
The Maintenance Leader is responsible for supervising and mentoring the Junior Staff (high school students) on the maintenance crew. The maintenance crew provides services that keep camp running, such as grounds-keeping and building/vehicle maintenance.
The Housekeeping Leader is responsible for supervising and mentoring the Junior Staff (high school students) on the housekeeping crew. The housekeeping crew keeps BLBC’s facilities clean and inviting to campers, staff, and guests.
Adventure Challenge Education (ACE) Facilitators are responsible for running all adventure activities for the summer camp program. This includes high-adventure activities such as rock climbing and zip-lining, as well as facilitating our group team-building program. Training in adventure programming and small group facilitation will be provided by Bair Lake Bible Camp.
The Kitchen Leaders will rotate between the roles of Assistant Cooks and Kitchen Hosts throughout the summer. Assistant Cooks will work directly with the Head Cook to plan and prepare meals for campers, staff, and volunteers. The Kitchen Host will supervise and mentor the Junior Staff (high school students) each week in preparing the dining room for meals, cleaning up afterward, and doing dishes.
The Audio/Visual Team is responsible for supplying the media and production needs for each week of camp. Their responsibilities include managing sound systems, taking and posting photos for each week of camp, producing weekly recap videos for each week of camp, and creating a Summer Staff recap video. Previous experience is preferred.
The Craft Leader is responsible for the daily operations of the craft program. This includes creating and planning the craft program for each week of camp, keeping track of inventory and organization, supervising volunteers, and guiding campers of all ages in completing crafts.
The Bair’s Cove Staff is responsible for the daily operations of the Bair’s Cove (the camp store). This includes data entry, stocking and organizing inventory, running the cash register, and opening/closing the store. This position involves leading Junior Staff helpers (high school students), as well as interacting with campers, parents, staff, and volunteers.
Day Camp Group Leaders are responsible for working with a team of 3-4 other leaders to manage a group of elementary-aged day campers each week. Group Leaders spend each day guiding the day campers in games, Bible lessons, adventure courses, and more.
The Day Camp Assistant Director works alongside the Day Camp Director to manage the day-to-day operations of Day Camp. This includes but is not limited to organizing and running events, interacting with parents, curriculum planning assistance, and implementation.

Leadership Positions

Programmer: Works directly with the program directors to execute all activities.
Waterfront Director: Manages all waterfront personnel. Responsibilities include scheduling and pool and lake maintenance.
ACE Facilitator: Manages all ACE staff. Responsibilities include scheduling and ACE maintenance.
Kitchen Quality Control Intern: Responsibilities include quality control of the day-to-day operations of the BLBC kitchen and food service.
