Why an Apprenticeship?

In this program, we are deeply rooted in the core values of BLBC, which influence everything we do. We integrate scripture into our teaching and mentoring, emphasizing its relevance to everyday life. Our primary aim is to empower young adults to understand and apply the gospel in their daily decisions. Throughout the year, apprentices will live in a close community, providing numerous opportunities to apply biblical truths in practical ways. A highlight of the program is the journey of growth shared with like-minded individuals, united in their desire to deepen their love for God and live out His Word. The lessons these apprentices learn will become valuable assets wherever their paths may lead.

Heidi, Housekeeping Apprentice

Being in this program has brought me so much joy through building relationships and learning important life skills! I've seen God through the staff's love for me and each other.

Abby, Office Apprentice

I had the opportunity to lead morning prayers, go through the gospels, and have spiritual conversations with Randall, the Discipleship Coordinator. It was a blessing to serve the guests and watch them interact with one another in fellowship while they worshipped our Lord Jesus Christ.

Frankie, General Apprentice

The apprentices are in such a great community, and it reminds me of the early church in Acts. We all support, encourage, and goof around with each other.

The Apprenticeship Program

Weekly
Rhythms

This program consists of a minimum of 40 hours a week. At least three of those hours will be used for personal development. This development will be seen through mentoring from a full-time staff, morning prayers and Bible studies, building a resume, learning the art of your position, and extra training. The work week is from Tuesday through Saturday, with Tuesday being a day to clean the facilities used in preparation for the next group. Wednesdays consist of an hour-long Bible Study and then right into all staff worship/meetings. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday consist of working in your area of service and helping serve guest groups wherever needed. Since we serve groups on the weekends, it will be required for apprentices to help serve on Sundays. We will do our best to limit the number of Sundays you have to work.

4 Essential Elements

These four essential elements are woven together to form the Apprenticeship Program

Work

A significant aspect of the apprenticeship program involves practicing our faith in serving alongside one another. Together we learn what it means to work to the glory of God, to serve with excellence, and to understand work as a gift!

Equipping

Through study, training, and guest speakers, apprentices will be given the opportunity to grow personally, spiritually, and professionally. Our goal is to move beyond the “classroom” and to apply the practical tools necessary to thrive in faith and your vocational calling wherever God ultimately leads you.

Coaching

Coaching and mentoring is a space for intentional and transformational question-asking. We want to provide space for working through questions, tensions that arise, and time to explore issues of the heart.

Life Together

Through the practices of truth-telling, promise-keeping, gratitude, and hospitality, apprentices will learn how to live in a healthy community with one another.
