Testimonials from our in-box

"At BLBC, I received more than a cup of cold water (Matt 10:21-24). I have a self-contained room fully furnished with a bed, desk, chair, lampstand, and heat among other things. I appreciate your warm hospitality and generosity. Because of the Christian atmosphere you have created at Bair Lake Bible Camp in obedience to God, this place has become a spiritual landmark to me. I have had wonderful moments in God's presence as I prayed, fasted, worshipped, read, journaled, and above all, inquired of the Lord and got to hear Him answer me with specific details." Blessings, John 10mar

“When I was younger I used to think that camp was just a way to capitalize on a market of families by digging into their pockets; I know now that this is not true. Bair Lake was like a safe haven, and provided armor to take into this crazy world. Although I have not been to camp in 13 years I always remember the Heaven on Earth that it was.
I loved camp and it was the only place where I felt like I could be myself and that is why I flourished there.
Thanks again, you are always there and are always a friend.” 310

Mr. Tissot:
Every moment of contact, from start to finish, has been exceptional in our dealings with Bair Lake Bible Camp. We are on fire with desire to stay connected to BLBC and continue to nurture and feed our kids through the works you and your staff provide. Upon dropping the kids off, we were greeted with enthusiastic camp volunteers. The kids couldn't get away from us fast enough and into the throws of the excitement around them! The kids were greeted warmly and were right away settled into their home for the week. We couldn't even be sad to leave them because we could already see the delight and love that was on its way! When we returned on Saturday, we could hear the kids whooping and singing from outside the doors - music to my ears and heart! Then to our delight and surprise, you approached us and engaged in a very delightful conversation. Thank you for being so available and relatable. Going into the arena where the kids were was like a tall drink of water! What a refreshing sight and sound - love, enthusiasm, worship, support, cheer! Our hearts were overflowing with joy as the kids took the microphone one-by-one to share how their lives were changed throughout the week! AWESOME! All the way home, the kids talked and talked about each event, stories told by Thad, great group games, devotional time, chapel time, etc. Every single sentence uttered by the kids has been affirmation that BLBC offers nothing but greatness on so many levels! Thank you again for your gift of service to the children - we know that children are a gift from God and you are such a blessing and encouragement to them!

Admiring you,

Dear Bair Lake,
We had a wonderful time at family camp.

When I was driving I would ask the child that was awake with me, “What was your favorite part of camp.” Each said, “The hobo breakfast.” I would have thought fireflies, tubing, climbing, but no, it was getting up and cooking outside on a can. They now want me to locate cans and have all their friends over to cook. 

I also wanted to share an interesting story. I was put up for adoption when I was 12/13, so into foster care I went. My first home was a Pastor and his wonderful wife Lynn. She made many differences in my life, even down to the lullaby I sang to my children when they were babies about God loves.  I wasn’t able to continue my stay there, but did end up in a permanent home eventually.  Upon returning from camp, I felt compelled to locate Lynn and thank her for those gifts she gave me, 28 years later! I was able to locate her in California. I began telling her about the wonderful time at camp in Michigan and that I have never heard of the Plymouth Brethren, but that didn’t deter us from going. I told we really enjoyed the fellowship with everyone and loved Bair Lake and would return. Well she was already in shock and tears over the phone call, (thanking her for the gifts she taught me teaching me about Jesus), but she was really shocked over camp. She is in her later 50’s and said to me.  I grew up in Michigan; how she use to go to the other camp as a little girl and as a young women to Bair Lake, that she was raised Plymouth Brethren and then she said with excitement;  â€œDid you do the Hobo Breakfast?”  I guess that is one of her favorite memories too. I told her I would have to get her the shirt with Hobo breakfast on it.  I couldn’t believe that upon returning from camp I contact her 28 years from the last time I saw her and never knew the church she grew up in or camp she went to. To me, that was a wow story.  To her it was a wow story 

We definitely want to return, Bair Lake was amazing. It was a bonding time for the boys and Rich with Frisbee Golf and of course, the hours Brittany and I spent in Amish Country, driving and talking.
Thank you,
Paula 09FAM
