A  and Michigan work permit is required before arrival.  Following registering for CIT you will receive a reminder to complete the application and information for obtaining a work permit.

Overview of the Jr Staff program

Students ages 14-18, who have attended Bair Lake's CIT (Christians in Training Camp) are invited to volunteer on a weekly basis. Serving on a dish crew, maintenance, housekeeping team or as childcare workers, lifeguards or junior counselors. Room and board is provided with oversight by adults called Staff Parents. The Jr Staff reside in a retreat building called the Farmhouse. One sex is upstairs, while the other is down. The Staff Parents act as such, living alongside, supervising the Jr Staff in their non-work hours, providing an activity/devotion teaching time in the evenings and building into their lives. Most weeks have 20-24 youth serving in this capacity in non-counseling rolls. Jr Staff serving as Jr Counselors reside with the Sr Counselor in the camper cabin. They are responsible to the Sr Counselor and Program Director. Not only is this a week of service, but also a week of growth. Prerequisite is attendance at CIT, following completion of this week, the week of volunteer service will be assigned.

Jr Staff Application (due June 1) Health Form and State of Michigan work permit are required. (Out of state workers will be given opportunity to obtain a Michigan work permit during the CIT week.)
